WERE, PRIOR TO MARCH 23, 1942, WHOLLY DEPENDENT UPON AND RESIDENT WITH,


AND WHO ARE THE WIVES, UNMARRIED OR DEPENDENT NATURAL AND ADOPTED CHILDREN,


WARDS, STEPCHILDREN, FATHERS, MOTHERS AND OTHER DEPENDENT RELATIVES, OF


THOSE CERTAIN MALE JAPANESE ALIENS AND NON- LIEWS, WHO, ON OR ABOUT SAID DATE


DEPARTED FROM MILITARY AREA NO. 1, MORE PARTICULARLY LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA


AND VICINITY FOR, AID ARE NOW LOCATED AT, THE UANZANAR RECEPTION CENTER,


MANZANAR, CALIFORNIA.


1. A responsible adult member of each family affected by


this notice will report to the Civil Control Station, 707


South Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, between the


hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on Monday, March 30, 1942,


to be informed of the arrangements that have been made for trans-


portation to the Manzanar Reception Center.


2 Prior to departure for the reception center, arrange-


ments must be made by individuals concerned for the disposi-


tion of the more substantial items of property left behind


in Los Angeles. Note that privately ovmed vehicles will not


be taken to the reception center. Services to assist in such


disposition will be available at the Civil Control Station.


5. All persons going to the Manzanar Reception Center under


the provisions of this notice will be given a medical exam-


e ination prior to their departure. Information on this subject


may be obtained at the Civil Control Station.


' 4, Each individual making the trip to Manzanar will take with


him or her the following:


(a) Bedding and linens. (io mattress)


(b) Toilet articles.


(ec) Extra clothing.


(ad) Silverware to include knife, fork, spoon,


plates, bowls, cups, etce


(e) Essential personal effects.


The above will be securely packaged, tied and plainly marked


with the name of the owner, and numbered in accordance with


instructions received at the Civil Control Station.


The size and number of packages is limited to that which can


be carried by the individual or family group.


Oe No contraband items, as described in paragraph 6, Public


Proclamation No. 3, Headquarters Western Defense Command and


Fourth Army, dated March 24, 1942, will be carried.
