"WHY DON'T WE DO

THESE MORE OFTEN ?"

The other evening I sat in ona re-

hearsal of the talent show--composed of

pianists, singers, and instrumentalists

people with talents of all kinds. All

of them were interested in the idea of

entertaining and pleasing the public,

Of course, the staff and the gener-

ous contributors of El Joaquin are

working industriously to do their share

as servants of communication in behalf

of the whole center.

For example, Boy Scouts is one of

the organizations that takes more than

just words to surpass. The reason is

scouting is a program of first

training the young boys of 12 to 20 of

building up a strong foundation of

character, training them tobe inde"}

pendent so that they will be able to

stand on your own when they advanee in

their years.

I praise these men and women for

doing a great service to the public,

despite the present conditions.

I am sure that the people doing ser-~

vices for others in this Center havo

troubles of their own, but in spite of

this they are trying to make all of us

finer men and women.

So I Suggest thee, men and women of

this Center that thou offer thy coopor-

ation and thy-selves these worthwhile

organizations, After all, it will be

our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers,

boy friends, girl frionds, and everyone

else in general who will benefit by this.

LACKOUT / CENTER

COOPERATES WITH CITY

of Stockton, Center residents are asked

to heed blackout regulations by not

ighting matches or any. ae form of

lights.

persons can make preparations for the
