RAMBLING REPORTER.
1S ELECTION DES
O you consider election desirable at this time?"
' and "Why?" were the questions that the Rambling Report-
er wanted to have answered and this ig what he got.
SAM FUNAMURA: "I think so. It will remove much
Complaint about block supervisors and will give people
a chance to put in their own choice." : |
JUN AGARI: "Yes? There won't be mch Criticism if
popular election is held. People will be freer te go
to their representatives and discuss problems."
RUTH ISODA: "No, I'm perfectly satisfied."
KEN HASEGAWA: "Haven't formed any opinion,"
ART IWATA: "Very desirable. Arbitrary appointing
of Supervisors wasn't very fair. This will get more
cooperetion,"
TAK WAKIMOTO: "Yes, suret Give' everybody a4 break,
Fair election will result in qualified leaders,"
CHRISTINA KUBOTA: "Why not! This tine is just es
good as snother!"
WALT OKAWA:s "We should have it,
It's better now than never and the
Commend more respect from the blocks,"
SAMMIE CHIKARAISHI: "Election is necessary to get
well-orgenized block supervision."

PLUG FOR THE COOP
Of immediate interest to the enter-ites at this
porticuler time is. the coming jelection of the block su-
pervisors, It is important enough to warrant the full
attention of all residents of voting age, and the suc=
cess of the election will depend upon the response ac-
corded to it on Wednesday. .
However, as important as the choice of our leaders is
to us in the assembly center, we must not overlook the
form of government that we are to heve in the relocation
center. A self-sufficient cooperative plan is to be in-
stituted there, ami there isa distinct need for our com-
munity members to know the principles of this system so
that our eventual transfer to and setcentlement in the WRA
Projects could be accomplished with the minimam of con-
fusion and wasted efforts,
Our series of articles on Cooperetives were started
for this reason end my aid the Center people to gain some
knowledge of tais plan,

PRINCIPLE #3
Money invested in a cooperative, if it received in-
terest, shall be linited to a fixed percentage which
shall not be more than the prevailing current rate,
Any buginess needs capital to start and those that
invest in a cooperative should be rewarded, but only in
the form of interest at the rate that prevails in the
business world,
This principle may not apply to us in our relocation
project but is an important principle for any coopera-
tive started yoluntarily, .
