Dear Dr. Bowman:

Work is progressing on the color rendering of the bear,

and I am preparing several trial sketches to send up for

`Or. Storer's criticism before a final rendering.

As to the lettering, mentioned in your letter, perhaps

it would be just as well for me to go ahead on that from

models I have here at hand. So much depends on careful

letter spacing as well as on the right models, and as a

general rule architectural draftsmen are not too well

trained in lettering. My experience and practice in this

field are extensive. In any case, what I do will be in

the nature of a proposal for improved lettering te go

along with the - bear!

iy predtainary sketches will go up to Dr. Storer before

the end of this week.

Thanks for your courteous reception in Sacramento. That

conference with you and Mr. Links was an Subastiatdons and

enjoyable experience. I also had a good visit with Tracy

Storer in Davis next ee and we got several points

iz oned out.

Sincerely yours,

0H o rae' thi

Don Greame Kelley
