Selected items from the Reginaldo F. del Valle papers, which consists of business, political, family, and personal papers, including legal documents, correspondence, a scrapbook, a diary, papers pertaining to the Los Angeles Board of Water and Power, documents pertaining to del Valle's political career, telegrams, newspaper clippings, election ephemera, and miscellany. Correspondents include Pío Pico, Jessie Benton Frémont, Charles F. Lummis, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Also includes land documents and other legal papers pertaining to Rancho Ex-Mission San José, Rancho Camulos, Ygnacio del Valle, Ysabel Varela del Valle, Juan B. Alvarado, Andrés Pico, Juana B. Araiza, and others.

Reginaldo del Valle was a prominent Mexican American politician and civil servant. He served in the Calif. State Assembly (1879-1880) and Senate (1882-1886). He was a member of the Board of Water and Power Commissioners for the City of Los Angeles (1908-1929) and was instrumental in the construction of the Owens River aqueduct.
