Dear Fred:
The reason you haven't appeared in
Federal Court recently is that Judge Welsh, who is hand-
Ling your case, is holding court in Secramento, and his
return to San Francisco is rather indefinite. Your case
has now gone over for two weeks, that is until August cent,
but I do not imow at this time whether Judge Welsh will
be on hand, if he is uot, the case will again have to be
postponed until he returns.
i have not received any response, either
from Miss Boiteno or from ir, Walleenn, I wrote to both
of them on July 7th. I asked Mi, Wallmam specifically
whether it would be agreeable to him if I picked up the
ear at some future date, and I asked Miss Boitano whether
che Was prepared to accept the car if it was delivered to
her, If you have heard enything about this mtter, I wish
you would let me know.
Sometime within the next few days, I
will send you copies of the briefs which have been pre=
pared in your case by Mr, Collins.
Sincerely yours,
EBsRi lynest Besig, Director
